Every year the same question goes around the group chat in late December: what are we doing for New Year's Eve? The downtown St. Pete bars want a cover charge and a two-hour wait for a drink. Clearwater Beach is wall-to-wall tourists. The big Tampa parties cost a car payment. And staying home feels like giving up.
Here is the other option. On Wednesday, December 31, 2026, Battle Zone Boxing in Pinellas Park turns its gym into a comedy club for one night. Six comedians on one stage: headliner Joey B, featured comedian Goopman, and four comedians going head-to-head with the crowd picking the winner. Real seats, a cash bar, free parking, and a room full of people who came to laugh.
You get a lineup and a start time. Nobody is shouting over a DJ. The whole point of the night is the people on stage, and the crowd is there for the same reason you are.
Pinellas Park sits in the middle of the county. Largo, Seminole, Clearwater and St. Petersburg are all a short drive, and Tampa is one bridge away.
The gym has its own lot. Pull in, park, walk in. That alone beats most of downtown on December 31.
Ticket prices post here before they go on sale November 1. Bring friends: the showdown format is better with a loud table.
